Our commitment

Stour Valley Care Group is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. We aim to achieve at least Level AA conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

What we have done

We have designed and built this website with accessibility in mind. Steps we have taken include:

  • Semantic HTML structure throughout, including proper heading hierarchy
  • All images have descriptive alternative text (or are marked as decorative)
  • All interactive elements are keyboard-accessible
  • Visible focus indicators on all focusable elements
  • Sufficient colour contrast ratios across all text and interactive elements
  • Support for prefers-reduced-motion — animations are disabled when the user has this preference set
  • Forms include descriptive labels and clear error messages
  • Navigation landmarks (nav, main, footer) to aid screen reader navigation

Known limitations

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of this website. Some areas we are aware of and are working to improve:

  • Gallery images provided by users of our admin system may not always have complete alternative text — we are working to improve guidance for content editors
  • Some older PDF documents linked from the site may not be fully accessible — we will update these over time
